Who’s the PTO?
The PTO is made up of many volunteers who work year ’round to ensure the teachers, staff and students are supported in all the ways possible.
Below is a list of Committees that you can volunteer for. If you have an interest in anything, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
If you can’t volunteer but want to help, consider purchasing something off the PTO Wish List to help support the efforts of the PTO!
This committee plans 5th grade graduation including invitations, program, decorations, and celebration. Also collects 5th grade pictures & ads for Yearbook.
Book Fair typically takes place in late September during the week of conferences. This committee helps set up and tear down the event, plus working sales shifts during the event.
The Book Swap takes place in February. Committee members collect donated books, organize the swap and help facilitate volunteers for the swap.
The Carnival Committee is the largest committee we have. Joining this committee is a great way to meet people and plan a fun event for the kids.
This committee works with Womenade of Elkhorn to set up and promote the Celebration of Giving Project around the Holidays. Create a sign-up genius and collect and log donated gifts.
This Committee plans games and activities for Halloween and Valentines Parties for the classrooms, and coordinates volunteers to help run the parties.
As you might imagine, the Copy Committee comes in during school hours to make copies for teachers and staff as needed.
The Directory Committee oversees our online directory and answers questions and troubleshoots issues as they come up.
The Facebook Committee manages our Facebook Page and creates events and posts to help keep our school informed.
The Family Fest Committee works in conjunction with the Fun Run Committee to plan the Spring Ridge Family Festival with food trucks, a DJ, and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.
The Fun Run Committee plans and coordinates our biggest fundraising event of the year, the Fun Run. Partnering with Boosterthon, the Committee works with several volunteers for 3-4 weeks leading up to the Fun Run.
The Landscaping Committee plans two clean-up events per year and coordinates volunteer help, and makes sure Spring Ridge is looking beautiful.
The Newsletter Committee gathers newsletter content from all the different Committee Chairs, and formats the newsletter in the template provided for Mrs. Petersen to mail out at the end of each month.
This Committee coordinates the sales and distribution of School Supply Kits with an existing vendor for each school year.
The sponsorship committee solicits families and businesses for sponsorship opportunities within the Sponsorship Program.
This committee coordinates the sales of Spring Ridge Apparel in the Fall. From choosing a vendor, creating the design, advertising, and order collection & distribution.
Coordinate ways to appreciate our teachers & staff throughout the school year. Create the theme and coordinate food, decorations, and activities for Staff Appreciation Week.
Work in school workroom laminating, cutting or performing other miscellaneous duties as requested by school staff. Purchase necessary equipment as reimbursed by the PTO.
Create and manage Sign-ups for Volunteers for Classroom volunteer opportunities, health screenings, school picture days, and other events as needed.
This committee maintains the Spring Ridge PTO Website, updating with news, pictures, and much more.
This committee takes pictures at various events throughout the school year, and collects photos from parents to use in the annual Yearbook. Advertises, collects payments, and distributes yearbooks at the end of the year.
